Launched in 2023, the aim of this project is to promote the conservation of the Mediterranean marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network in Italy and Spain. This will be achieved by improving the knowledge and participation of the actors involved, as well as the users of the sea linked to sectors such as tourism, fishing or nautical-recreational activities.

The aim is to restore approximately 30,000 hectares of deep-sea habitats in Catalonia, an ecologically valuable area located off the coast of Girona and Barcelona. This will be achieved through active collaboration with the fishing sector.

Completed in 2023, the main objective of this project has been to help reduce cetacean bycatch in the Bay of Biscay and the Iberian coast through collaboration with the fishing sector. It involved 15 partners from Spain, France and Portugal.

The objective is to assist in the implementation of the Directive establishing a Framework for Maritime Spatial Planning in the overseas territories of Spain, France, and Portugal by promoting collaborative governance and enhancing communication among the competent authorities.

Completed in 2023, this project represents an international collaboration between networks of Marine Protected Area (MPA) managers worldwide. The European Commission is driving efforts to contribute to the EU’s international ocean governance objectives and achieve the goal of protecting at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.

Has sought to define a common approach for the development of descriptor 4 (food webs) of the Directive establishing a Marine Strategy Framework in Macaronesia -Azores, Madeira and Canaries-.

The project aims to facilitate the effective management of marine protected areas in the Mediterranean by providing efficient and sustainable solutions through strong, active, and connected networks.

The primary goal of the project is to promote marine protected areas as crucial locations for both climate change adaptation and mitigation.

A set of practical recommendations has been provided on how to prevent or minimise the environmental impacts of up to seven sectors of activity.
